How to survive the AI apocalypse (for real)
The most likely "AI apocalypse" is not robots in the street, it is fast change in work, money and information. The useful preparation is boring and works in every scenario:
- Make your job AI-proof. Check your job, then move towards the human part of it.
- Use AI, and check it. People who use AI well are the last to be replaced; people who trust it blindly get fooled first.
- Protect your accounts. AI makes scams and voice cloning cheap: use a password manager, two-factor login and a family code word.
- Don't believe every video. Check surprising clips and calls through a second source.
- Keep real-world skills and people. Cooking, fixing things and friends nearby help in any crisis.
- Have a small emergency kit. Water, cash, a power bank and a radio: useful for outages, AI or not.
